“Casa do Salabredo” a perfect refuge!
The old support house for the administrator of Tapada in the 1940s was converted into local accommodation.
In front of it there are two secular trees, the horse-chestnut and the olaia, planted in the reign of King Luís I by order of King Fernando II.
The garden of the “Casa do Salabredo” and of access to our guests, stands out for its sculptures, many of them from the 18th century, for the isolated sceneries and the panoramic views over the river.
We can also find the fountain, the old stables and the King D. Carlos Hunting Pavilion.
The “Casa do Salabredo“, as this place used to be called, has seven bedrooms (five doubles and two singles), two living rooms each with a fireplace, a dining room, a kitchen and several toilets.
We bet on sustainability and on the picturesque and rural line of the House, so we kept the style of the house, which presents furniture still from the period, highlighting the extraordinary dining table and its chairs, each one with a forest fruit, if the former administrator of the time, Eng. Segismundo Saldanha, forest engineer.
