In harmony with nature
In the National Hunting Grounds of Mafra, the hunting takes place in total harmony with nature. Indeed, this leisure activity represents a necessary component not only to maintaining the balance of the ecosystems but also for the vitality of animals and the ratios between the different species populations.
Diverse hunting days
These take place at specific times of the year and are subject to prior and limited registration.
The hunting restrictions are structured with the objective of not interfering with the animal breeding seasons. The timing of the hunting thus varies in accordance with the respective animal species.
Technical actions
The hunting management of the National Hunting Grounds of Mafra, in addition to organising hunting parties, also undertakes the following objectives:
- Monitoring the sanitary status of populations;
- Accompanying population dynamics;
- Holding species censuses during the breeding season;
- Drafting hunting plans within the framework of balancing the populations;
- Supervising research study works.
